PUNE: The centralized admissions committee (CAP) for admissions to first year junior college (FYJC, Std XI) has announced an extension in the deadline for filling up part 1 and part II of the applications till July 30 after more than 11,000 applicants did not complete the process despite creating the login.
Meena Shendkar, in-charge of the admissions in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, said, “About 5,000 students have their part I of the form verified but they have not filled part II and nearly 6,000 students have filled part I but they have not locked part II of the form so these students may miss out on admissions.”
Students have time till 6pm on July 30 to complete and submit their forms. The rest of the schedule would be followed as per previous announcement.
The provisional merit list of students who have completed the registration process on the admissions portal is ready. Any objections regarding names, marks, address, or other changes in the provisional list can be sent before the CAP committee announces the first merit list on August 3. Students will get two days for confirmation of admission to the allotted school or junior college after the first merit list is announced.
The admission process for students who have confirmed admissions through the CAP system or under quota will be completed. Colleges have been instructed to accept payments only through digital mode. If any student wants to cancel his/her admission, then he/she will have to request the concerned school or junior college for cancellation. Such students will not be able to participate in the immediate next round, but they can reapply in the next round.
Students who have been allotted a college of their first preference will have to confirm their admission. If they fail to do so, they will not be able to participate in the next round.
